Need help obtaining federal grant

It appears as though the fact that I am unemployeed, I don't qualify for anything as far as help from the Government. I have worked all my life and have paid handsomely towards Soc. Sec., etc.,etc. I've had numerous unsecured loans from many banks and have paid all on time. I am a home owner and am currently up to date on my payments, always adding extra towards the princapal. Same goes for a home Equity Line which is almost double what I owe towards my house.
My Credit Score is 740. Unfourtunatly that is about change unless I can get some Legitement information on obtaing a Federal Grant to going until the economy picks back up.
I am a Florida Licensed Land Surveyor residing in the S.W. Florida area and have worked for the same company over 33 years.
I would like to go back to school in pursuit of Alternety Energy Sources, but I would need a non-repayable Federal Grant in order to pay for school costs and cover my monthly bills and other expenses. I've searched and searched the Internet, but everything so far appears to be just a scam. You get an application for a non-repayable Federal Grant to start your own business. For instance, one that I checked into was called GOOGLE PRO. You buy and sell items over the Internet from manufactures that were returned from being overstocked or returned from retailers with HUGE profits. It all looks legit until you read the fine print that GOOGLE PRO is not in any way affiliated with GOOGLE.
